Creating Campaign Pins!
In this tutorial I will teach you how to create spectacular campaign pins, or just about any pins! It is always recommended that you register and refer to the video tutorial, and .PSD.
Step 1:
Let’s start by opening up a fresh document, 400×400px. Fill the background white.

Step 2:
Create a new layer (CTRL+Shift+N). Now grab the Eclipse Tool and make a fairly big circle in black (remember to hold shift to keep the right proportions).

Step 3:
Open up blending options (on the circle layer) and apply the following settings. Doing this allows us to create a nice shadow for our soon to come pin.

Step 4:
Next we need to download a nice patriotic picture (I choose an American flag).

Step 5:
Now that we found our image, lets copy it into the document underneath the circle layer (CTRL+C - CTRL+V). Feel free to resize the photo if necessary.

Step 6:
Next we need to highlight the circle layer, grab the magic wand tool, and click outside of the circle (thus making a selection of everything else). Delete this selection from the flag picture.

Step 7:
Make a selection of the circle (CTRL+Click or Magic Wand). Now go to select>modify>contract and contract by 10px.

Step 8:
Create a new layer, grab a white soft brush, and brush the inside like so. These will serve as shines.

Yes, it looks very choppy, don’t worry.
Step 9:
Now it’s time to smooth it out, to do this simply go to filter>blur>gaussian blur, and apply it with the radius set at 5.9.

Step 10:
Apply Some cool text, and your done! Here’s how mine came out:
